How to Enter

Please note that the competition entry deadline Thursday, September 19, 2013

  1. Click here to access the login portal.
  2. Enter your POPAI Login ID and Password
    If you need assistance with your Login ID and Password please contact Nancy Carpenter at 312-863-2918 or email ncarpenter@popai.com
  3. Scroll down to Awards & Competitions
    Click on View Open Competitions
  4. Under Open Competitions locate WC POP Contest and click View
  5. Under Competition Tasks click on Apply Now
  6. Under Select Entry Fee choose the appropriate level based on the number of entries you will submit and click continue
    Level One – Includes One Entry
    Level Two – Includes Two – Three Entries
    Level Three – Includes Four – Nine Entries
    Level Four – Includes Ten – Twenty Entries
    Level Five – Includes Twenty One and More Entries
  7. Complete the Entry Form
  8. Select the Category for your Entry and click continue
    Category Color and Letter indicate appropriate Set-up Area on the show floor please reference the guide below.
  9. Under Payment Information choose either Pay with Credit Card or Bill Me/Pay Later and click Place Order. Please remember if you choose Bill Me/Pay Later payment is due prior to set-up day on September 25, 2013.
  10. If you are submitting more than ONE Entry you will need to go back to the Awards & Competitions Area and repeat steps 3 through 9 for every entry that you are submitting. You must select the same Entry Fee Level that you selected with your first entry in order to avoid being charged additional fees.

We reserve the right to move entries into a more appropriate category. If you enter your display in an inappropriate category, it may be disqualified. If you don’t know which category to enter, please contact Tammy Mulcahy at 313-863-2916 or tmulcahy@popai.com to confirm first.

Please ensure that Entry Name, Producer Name and Client Name are all spelled and entered correctly. You will NOT have an opportunity to correct this information prior to Awards being engraved. 

It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the display is set-up AND taken down otherwise the display will be disqualified and breakdown fee of $100 will be charged.

Setup & Tear Down Instructions

Category Colors & Letters

BLUE GROUP 

A. Mobiles, Wire Hangers, Ceiling Hangers – Displays that hang from a ceiling or off of a wall.

B. Posters/Banners – Non-Paper Substrate – Mounts/hangs directly on wall.  Can be framed.

C. Posters/Banners – Paper Substrate – Mounts/hangs directly on wall.  Can be framed.

D. Shelf Talkers & Decals

E. Counter Displays/Permanent – Displays intended for use on counter/table top intended to last longer than 6 months AND/OR any display   that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic

F. Counter Displays/Non-Permanent – Displays intended for use on counter/table top intended to last less than 6 months. Any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic will be considered permanent.

G. Complete Storewide Campaign – Multiple elements placed in various locations in a store that deliver the same message.

H. Ad Specialties – Any branded item that promotes a product/advertiser.

I. Specialty Packaging/Direct Print – Prints directly to the packaging substrate.

YELLOW GROUP

J. Specialty Packaging/Print to Litho Label – Prints to litho label and then is mounted to packaging substrate.

K. Wall Displays – Any display that attaches directly to a wall surface.

L. Back Cards, Stack Cards, Case Cards/Wine

M. Back Cards, Stack Cards, Case Cards/Non-wine

N. End Aisle Display/Permanent – Display that is placed end aisle in the store intended to last longer than 6 months AND/OR any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic

RED GROUP

O. End Aisle Display/Non-Permanent – Display that is placed end aisle in the store intended to last longer than 6 months.  Any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic will be considered permanent.

P. Wine Displays/Permanent – Any wine display intended to last longer than 6 months AND/OR any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic

Q. Wine Displays/Non-Permanent – Any wine display intended to last longer than 6 months. Any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic will be considered permanent.

R. Pre-packed Floor Displays and Bins – Any display that ships with product enclosed/included.

S. Free-standing/Permanent – Any display that stands on its own intended to last longer than 6 months AND/OR any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic

T. Free-standing/Non-Permanent – Any display that stands on its own intended to last less than 6 months. Any display that has more than 50% permanent substrates like but not limited to wood, wire, metal or acrylic will be considered permanent.

U. Lighted Displays – Displays utilizing a light source other than ambient lighting.

V. Motion Displays – Displays incorporating motion as a key element of the display.

W. Interactive Displays – Any display that requires consumer interaction to deliver its message.
