Since 1936, POPAI (Point of Purchase Advertising International) has served as the leading international advocate and voice of the marketing at retail industry. We are composed of chapters worldwide and serve more than 1,400 member companies internationally. POPAI promotes, protects and advances the broader interests of the marketing at retail community through original research,certified education, awarding industry excellence, hosting trade forums and protecting intellectual and legislative rights.
Our membership draws on leaders from some of the industry’s premier companies, like: Anheuser-Busch, Coca-Cola, Energizer, Johnson & Johnson, McDonalds, Pepsi-Cola, Target, Walmart, and Wendy’s to name a few.
Education, globalization, technology, advocacy and elevating marketing at retail as a measured medium on a par with print, broadcast, and other advertising mediums are the driving strategies behind POPAI’s direction. Throughout the years we have focused on strengthening global partnerships, enriching our research and educational programs, and utilizing technology to better serve our members.
As the trade association for the marketing at retail industry, POPAI is responsible for establishing and maintaining industry standards. POPAI has taken the lead not only in standardizing the terminology we use, but is also working hard to establish new industry standards for measurement, technology and education. In doing so we are raising the standards of quality throughout the industry and improving the shopper’s experience in the marketplace.
In partnership with the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), we are leading an industry-wide, global initiative to establish measurement standards for marketing at retail.
