Alexandria, VA – POPAI today announced its newly elected officers for 2011-2012. Comprised of marketing at retail professionals, the newly elected officials continue to reflect POPAI’s vast global reach and continued position as the only global non-profit organization for the marketing at retail industry.

Headed by Chairman Chris Young, President and Chief Operating Officer of SMP In-Store Marketing Solutions, the new governing team strives to continue expanding POPAI’s role as the premiere source for thought leadership, industry networking opportunities, groundbreaking research, and educational programs in marketing at retail around the world. Young previously served as Vice Chair for POPAI in 2010-2011.

“It is an exciting time as we enter into our seventy-fifth year as the world’s leading marketing at retail association,” stated Young. “We are especially excited about the potential contributions of this new class of directors and officers. During the nomination process we specifically sought industry experts to help strategically move the association and industry forward.“

“As POPAI continues to evolve as an organization, we will rely on the leadership that these executives have demonstrated throughout their extensive careers,” said POPAI President Richard Winter. “Cohesively, our Board of Directors represents the breadth and diversity we see in the marketing at retail industry and we look forward to utilizing their knowledge and experience to build value for members and advance the industry in the years to come.”

In addition to a new slate of officers and new members to POPAI’s Board of Directors, POPAI will also have a new place to call home in 2011. In the Board of Directors first meeting in 2011 it was voted to relocate POPAI Headquarters Office to the Chicago area, allowing the association to be geographically closer to its membership base and better serve the marketing at retail industry in North America.
